For this guide, we will use two example emails:
- Your email (example): firstname.lastname@example.org
- E-mail set up in Kundo (this is set up by Kundo): email@example.com
Setting up Kundo Mail consists of three steps:
Create white label. Executed by your IT department
Optional: set up automatic replies in Kundo. Executed by you (in the Kundo settings)
Forward email to your inbox in Kundo Mail. Executed by your IT department
1. Create white label
Make sure every email you send comes from you. This is done by adding a number of DNS records to your domain, which tells the recipients of your email that Kundo is allowed to send emails from your domain. Without this mails sent by Kundo will be flagged as phishing or fraudulent if we try to send them from firstname.lastname@example.org.
1.1 Contact email@example.com. DNS changes are specific to each domain, so we will send instructions for your specific domain. “Hello, we want to activate our white label for firstname.lastname@example.org. Please send us the instructions.”
1.2 Follow instructions sent.
1.3 Don’t forget to email to email@example.com when the changes are made.
- These changes will only need to be done once per domain, and therefore doesn’t need not be done if you add new inboxes to the same domain in the future.
2. Optional: set up automatic replies in Kundo. Executed by you (in the Kundo settings)
Please contact your Customer success manager for assistance, or visit Kundo knowledge base.
3. Forward email to your inbox in Kundo Mail. Executed by your IT department
In order to use firstname.lastname@example.org directly in Kundo you will have to forward your own email to your new email address in Kundo (email@example.com)
3.1 Forward all emails from your own email server. Usually in Microsoft Exchange or in the settings for Office 365
3.2 Validate: To validate that the settings conducted are working; send an email to your own inbox. You should be able to view it inside of Kundo’s dashboard.
Leave a local copy: While conducting the forwarding settings you should consider to leave a local copy of each email on your email server. This is very useful as a backup if you for some reason would like to revert the process of how you will be answering your emails.
Multiple email addresses: you can forward more email addresses than one to the same inbox in Kundo. Just apply the same forwarding procedure again. Just note that the reply address will be the one you have used in the settings for Kundo Mail.
